Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Pontiac Trans Am which is in nicely restored condition which comes in the infamous Bandit color scheme with deluxe black vinyl interior and T Tops. This TA features a replacement crate 350 Chevy engine which was installed in 1995 with a rebuild Turbo 350 automatic transmission. Receipts for crate engine and transmission rebuild are included along with numerous other restoration receipts. This Trans Am features beautiful Black Paint with replacement decals, a nicely restored black interior, Factory Fisher T Tops, and numerous service records and receipts.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in nice overall restored condition. The paint was redone around 25 years ago with new decals applied at that time. The paint shows good overall and has a nice gloss and shine and is smooth to the touch. The body is in solid overall condition and has good lines and gaps around the car. New SE stripes were added in 2022. There is no bubbling paint or cracked paint anywhere around the car. The underside is in great overall condition with no visible rust issues or patches from past repairs. The underside is very honest and not covered up with cheap spray paint. The bumpers are in great condition with no flaking of faded paint. Both front bumper grills were replaced as was the nose emblem. The tires have decent tread left but are older though they drive fine. The 15×8 Snowflake wheels are OEM originals in good original shape. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great replaced condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with a replacement trunk mat and the original spare tire.
Interior
The interior of this TA has been nicely restored in deluxe black vinyl interior. The seat covers were replaced and are in good condition and are very comfortable. The carpet was replaced and is in great condition with no major stains or holes. The door panels are in good condition and both door pulls are in tact. The headliner was replaced and is not sagging at all. The dash cover was added years ago and still looks great with no cracks, no fading, and no warping. A new package tray was installed years ago as well. A Pioneer digital cassette stereo was added with new speakers which still sounds great. Interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the speedo. I believe a new speedo cable was installed but may not be working properly. The wipers, gauges, heater, horn, and stereo all work. This is a factory AC car and all components are still in tact but the AC is not blowing cold and most likely at least needs a recharge.
Mechanical
This TA is in great mechanical condition and many mechanical systems have been restored. The 350 Chevy crate engine was added in 1995 with a Holley Carb. and Edelbrock intake. A new distributor and new spark plugs and wires were installed with engine. A new mini starter was installed. New fuel pump was added then as well. The automatic transmission shifts nicely and works well and a new shifter cable was added. The transmission was recently serviced with a new pan and gasket and new fluid. The brakes stop well and do not pull from side to side. A new master cylinder was added with several new brake lines and hose. 4 newer shocks were added. New body mounts were installed with new bushings and new end links and sway bar mounts. We have driven this TA numerous times around town and on the highway and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. This TA is a great driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. This TA has upgraded Flowmaster exhaust with headers which sounds great at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
