Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this Survivor 1978 Factory Z28 which is in very nice overall stock condition. This Z28 features believed to be mostly original paint and original decals, door edge guards, and body moldings, a mostly original Red vinyl interior, and a great running original drive line. This Z28 has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps. The underside was fully rust proofed when new and is very solid and rust free. There are no rust concerns anywhere on the frame, floors, rockers, or trunk. This Z28 was heavily undercoated when new and it really did its job although 44 year old rust proofing is not friendly to the eyes. This Z28 is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of White over Red vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above. The low miles are Actual and several Ohio titles show the miles as Actual.
Exterior
The White exterior is in nice overall original condition. This Z28 features believed to be original sheet metal with no patches or repairs and mostly original paint in factory White with all original decals and moldings. The paint is in great overall original condition with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking paint. The paint has a good shine and good gloss and is smooth to the touch. This Z28 was heavily coated with rust proofing which did a great job in protecting this car from harsh elements and environments, and is still very noticeable on the underside of this car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The BF Goodrich tires have good tread left and the factory wheels are OEM originals and are in good original condition and not restored. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in great condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original spare tire and jack and original trunk mat.
Interior
The Red vinyl interior of this Z28 is mostly original and in great overall condition. The original seat covers are in good condition with no excessive wear or rips. These are not replacements but factory original vinyl covers. The carpet is original with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in great condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is original and in good condition. The upgraded cassette stereo works and sounds good. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was replaced and is in good shape. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should although the speedo recently stuck at 10mph. The horn is not working. The aftermarket AC appears to be all in tact and it powers up and blower motor works on all speeds. Also, you can hear the compressor kick on when engaged but currently the system is not blowing cold air. At a minimum it appears it needs a charge. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Z28 is in good mechanical condition with low miles of 81,039. This car drives well and gets a lot of attention while cruising around town. 4 new shocks were recently added along with a new alternator. The original catalytic converter was replaced with a bolt in strait pipe but the rest of the exhaust appears to be original with original GM mufflers. You can see the rust proofing splatter still on some of the piping. We have driven this car and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Z28 is a good driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is mostly stock with several factory tags and paint dobs and the heater hoses were just replaced.
