Here’s one cool 1977 Chevy Camaro Type LT that will be the only Camaro at your cruise night or car show that definitely draws attention, has been reborn into an awesome street machine. Started with a great canvas of an all original Type LT Camaro that has 43000 original miles, rust free original body panels, floors and factory black paint, an all original unmolested deluxe cloth Firethorn red interior and a factory console stick shift manual transmission car. Great color combo with the black body and Firethorn interior. This slick Camaro has the following.

Exterior:

Original body panels and floors except for a new custom fiberglass L-88 hood from VFN fiberglass in Addison, Il. New powder coated hood hinges along with light springs and chrome hood latch and custom hood pins were installed with the new hood.
Mostly original factory paint except for a couple touch ups over the years and the new paint on the new hood, car still shows very well for mostly 46 yr old paint. All original parking lights, turn signal lenses and tail lights look great and work as they should, all trim and brightwork is original to the car except the nylon mylar chrome plastic roof rail drip moldings that fade and discolor over time have been replaced with new ones. Original factory aluminum bumpers show well and have the optioned bumper guards. Doors close excellent and tight, body gaps are as they were from the factory which were never perfect.
Glass is original to the car and in excellent condition, windows roll up and down perfectly.
Real GM 454 red emblems were added to the front fenders behind the side marker lights as the factory did back in the day on Chevys, gives ya an idea of what’s lurking under the hood 😉

Car had Ziebart rustproofing when new and still has the installation decal inside the drivers door jam

Interior:

All original factory deluxe Type LT Cloth interior in exceptional condition, a real time capsule, with the addition of a Hurst shifter, custom color schemed pinstriped vintage shift knob, custom red digital gauges in the console and custom Hurst Supercar floor mats upfront. Gas pedal, brake, clutch and e-brake pads like new. Factory dash gauge cluster and dash lights all work perfectly as well as dome light. Factory rear window defogger works as well as the factory am/fm stereo.

Chassis and Undercarriage:

Has 4 wheel disc brakes
Subframe and underside of car completely rust free and detailed
Subframe has red Energy Suspensions polyurethane bushings installed
Alston chassis custom round tube black powder coated frame connectors were installed (these tuck up nice)
Front suspension is all new with BMR Red powder coated tubular upper and lower control arms with coil overs and powder coated oversized front sway bar with poly bushings and custom end links
2″ drop spindles up front with new red powder coated calipers and drilled and slotted rotors
Rear suspension has new 1.5″ drop performance multi-leaf springs, larger U bolts, new shackles with poly bushings
Competition Engineering rear 3 way adjustable shocks
8.5 inch factory 10 bolt posi-traction rear axle with 3.23 gears, custom performance rear end girdle cover and complete new factory component rear disc brake set up that originally came on 10th anniversary 79 Trans Ams and also have red coated calipers
New factory replacement clear coated gas tank with stainless steel straps and new sending unit
Stainless 3″ exhaust with X-pipe from headers with chambered mufflers that have custom dumps right at the rear axle
Sounds awesome with a deep tone and don’t sound overpowering inside the car

Drivetrain:

454 Mark IV Big Block Chevy punched out to 468ci with polished crank, heavy duty rod bolts, forged dome pistons
Chevrolet Perf Parts Bowtie Oval port Aluminum Heads with 110cc chambers, 2.25int valves and 1.88exh valves, these are the same heads as Edelbrock Perf RPM heads for BBC but with a larger intake valve and made for Chevrolet Perf parts division and these heads are set up for a hydraulic roller cam
Comp Cams Ultra Pro Magnum Roller Rockers and Howards cams pushrods open the valves
Howards Retro Fit Hydraulic Roller Cam and Lifters 235int/241exh duration@.050 with .618 lift and a lobe separation of 112
Melling Hi-Vol oil pump and pick up with custom 6qt oil pan with windage tray and scraper
Chrome aluminum hi output water pump, chrome power steering pump, chrome 100amp alternator, custom aluminum accessory brackets with aluminum engine pulleys with serpentine belt drive (no thrown v-belts)
All engine hoses are accented by Billet Specialties polished billet hose ends
Polished single plane high rise intake with a custom built for this engine, AED 850+ cfm Holley HP style double pumper carb with billet metering blocks. Feeding the carb is a Quick Fuel 110gph pump with steel braided line and anodized fittings with a Summit dual feed line with pressure gauge
Custom large Aluminum radiator engine stays right around 175 degrees on the hottest days
Optima Red Top battery with black billet battery hold down
Hi powered mini starter with new flywheel
Davis Unified Ignition custom curved HEI distributor and E3 spark plugs fire the fuel
2″ primary ceramic coated headers exit fumes to the 3 inch exhaust
Engine is 10-1 compression runs fantastic, idles at 850 and runs on premium pump gas
Custom Powder Coated “Hurst Performance” valve covers add to the theme…

Transmission is a Tremec wide ratio 5spd with a 3.27 1st gear and a .68 overdrive 5th gear and is geared perfectly with the 3.23 rear axle so you still have a great holeshot and low rpms on the highway, the best of both worlds, you can drive this Camaro anywhere you like with no drivability issues
11″ Centerforce Clutch with a Quick Time Black Pwd Coated Steel Safety Scatter shield bellhousing with block safety plate and of course a Hurst shifter does the gear changes smoothly and tight
Custom aluminum trans crossmember from American Powertrain and custom built steel driveshaft and heavy duty Spicer U joints to handle 700hp

The wheels are new rare Vision “Hurst” Dazzler wheels that are 17×8 with a 4.5″ backspace on all 4 corners and fit perfectly in the wheel wells of the Camaro. Wrapped around the wheels are new Nitto NT 450 tires with 225/50/17 upfront and 275/50/17’s on the rear

The overall appearance of the car is outstanding for its age and part of its originality, it is not a perfect 100 point show car or trailer queen, this cool piece of Americana was built to be driven and enjoyed for many years to come
This Camaro performs and drives excellent, nice and tight, handles like its on rails, all the mechanicals on the car have only 150 test miles, the car draws attention every cruise night and show it goes.
