This 1980 Triumph TR8 has always been a southern car from North Carolina originally then to South Carolina then to Florida. Second owner had the car from 1984 until 2017. Previous owner performed a 2 year refurbishment including new paint as well as interior work, mechanical overhauls, and more. Power comes from a 3.5-liter Rover V8 modified with an Edelbrock carb. and intake and paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This TR8 is offered with service records since 1984, the factory fuel injection set up, and a clean Ohio tile in selling dealers name.

The previous owner commissioned a repaint in Persian Aqua in 2018, with the new finish extending to the engine bay, door openings, and jambs. New weatherstripping and body gaskets were installed following the paintwork, and the black bumpers were recoated. Remaining imperfection are said to include a small chip in the passenger rear tail light.

A new convertible top was reportedly installed over a refinished frame, and an original top cover is included in the sale. Factory alloy wheels measure 13″×5.5″ wear a newer set of BF Goodrich tires which are less than a year old with less than 2000 miles on them and sized 205/60/13. Brake updates include overhauled booster, master cylinder, and front calipers, new pads, shoes, and stainless steel lines.

The interior was refreshed with fresh Tan Check cloth and vinyl upholstery over refinished seat frames with new foam and retractable belts. Replacement door panels, knee bolsters, kick panels, carpets, and other trim were also installed.

A modern MP3-capable stereo has been fitted in place of the factory radio. The 5-digit odometer shows just over 81k miles. The air conditioning system has been removed but several factory pieces, hoses, lines, brackets, and parts come with the car.

The aluminum 3.5-liter Rover V8 features an Edelbrock carb. which was added within the last year and an older Edelbrock intake. The water pump was replaced and the headlights were rebuilt and work great. The factory fuel injection system was removed from the car during the 1990’s by the long term second owner and those parts come with the car as seen in the photos. The power steering was removed in the 1990’s as well none of those parts were retained.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox which shifts in and out of gear nicely. The subframe and suspension components were reportedly stripped, refinished, and reinstalled with fresh bushings and shocks. Underside suspension rubber parts were replaced with new units and the suspension has been upgraded with new poly parts.
