Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Factory 4 Speed W72/WS6 Trans AM which is in fully restored condition and comes with factory T Tops. This Trans Am features a beautiful repaint in factory Solar Gold with new decals, a beautiful stock interior, the original numbers matching 400 engine and four speed manual transmission, and PHS Documents and several service records. This Trans Am has no visible rust and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Solar Gold (code 50)over Hobnail deluxe interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included PHS documents. This is one of the most sought after collectible TA’s on the market being the last of the 400 4 speed cars, 1 of only 2985 ever made. Very importantly the original engine and original fours speed transmission is still in the car. This TA only has 45K actual miles and the current new Ohio title has the miles marked as actual. Previous owner had the car for 17 years and the car had 39K actual miles when he bought the car and a copy of the title with actual miles marked on it comes with the car.

Exterior

The Solar Gold exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint about 17 years ago and still looks fresh today and has been driven about 5000 miles since and always garaged. The paint is in good overall condition and still fresh with no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in good overall shape. The decals still look new and are in excellent shape. The front bumper grills and nose emblem were replaced. There are some minor imperfections and paint touch ups that may not be noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires are brand new and have full tread left and are sized 255/60/15 and the 8″ snowflake wheels are like new and fully restored and are in excellent shape with no curb rash and come with new center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are newer and in excellent condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, with a correct felt trunk mat and the inflator bottle which is almost always missing.

Interior

The Hobnail deluxe interior of this Trans Am is in wonderful stock condition. The seat covers are like new with no noticeable wear anywhere. The carpet is like new as well with no stains, rips, or major holes. The original dash is in great condition with no fading or warping and the dash bezel is in new condition and was just restored by Randy Combs. The stereo was upgraded years ago to a after market 2 prong AM/FM digital Retrosound unit with usb and mb3 hook ups. Both the rear speakers and front dash speakers were changed to new units. Thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The door panels have been are like new and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray are in like new condition as well. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The stereo, horn, wipers, rear defrost and blower motor also work. Even the cigarette lighter works which is rarely the case. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition and comes with the original Pontiac 400 engine and the original four speed manual transmission. The engine was built around 5000 miles ago and a new Comp Cam was installed, see receipt and Cam card. Transmission was also rebuilt, see receipt. A new clutch was installed and the brakes were serviced. The steering box was rebuilt and many suspension parts were replaced such as, new rear leaf springs, new shocks, new body mounts, new sway bar mounts and end links, etc. Frame connectors were welded in which really improved the handling and ride of this TA. Most of the hard brake lines and fuel lines were replaced as were the rubber lines. The radiator was checked and serviced. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it has not run hot, rides tight, and always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The 4 wheel disk brakes were serviced and do not pull and stop as they should. New Dynomax exhaust was added and it has an amazing exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds and no noticeable drone. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. Several parts were removed and powder coated under the hood including the radiator core support, fender braces, inner wheel wells, brackets, A arms, and numerous other items, see all the receipts. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and adds to performance.
