Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this amazing survivor 1985 El Camino Choo Choo edition which is in fantastic original condition with low actual miles of 62,861. This El Camino is Un-Restored and in super condition in every way and has remained with one family from new until recently. This El Camino was purchased new in 1985 and remained with the original owner until his passing when it was left to his 67 year old son. This Choo Choo has been in a climate controlled garage from day one and remains completely original outside of maintenance items. It is 1 of approximately 2200 Choo Choo El Camino’s which were converted in Tennessee from 1983-1987. This El Camino features all original paint, decals, trim and Choo Choo appointments, a stunningly beautiful original interior, and the original numbers matching complete drive line, see engine vin stamp photo. This El Camino is absolutely solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the truck or under the truck, and is very solid with great lines and gaps. Its believed that this El Camino has never had any body work done and is all original sheet metal. This El Camino is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of White over Blue Cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this El Camino but also by the Ohio title pictured below stating the mileage as “Actual.”
Exterior
The White exterior is in terrific original condition. This El Camino has never had any paintwork done and still hosts its original sheet metal and factory emblems, trim, and moldings. The paint is in great condition for its age and being original and there are no signs of visible rust anywhere around the truck or under the truck. This El Camino was one of the 2200 which were converted into Choo Choo special editions. Unique Choo Choo front bumper, trim, moldings, emblems and decals were added as part of the package. Both bumpers are in great overall condition.
There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires were replaced a few years ago and have nearly full tread left and are sized 205/70/14 and drive just fine. The wheels are a unique Choo Choo option Western Wheels which are original and are in excellent overall shape and have never been restored or painted. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in excellent condition. The rear cargo compartment and spare tire storage area is very solid and clean with the spare tire, jack, with the original floor mat. It appears that the spare tire has never been removed from its factory position. The underside of this El Camino is honest and extremely solid and rust free, and has not had any touch ups. There are several factory tags still in place on the rear springs, factory air shock line, brake valve and other places. The rear tail gate works well and the toneau cover looks great and all the snaps still work properly.
Interior
The Blue Cloth interior of this El Camino is original and in superb condition. The seat covers are factory original and in near perfect condition for its age with no major wear, stains, or seam splits. The carpet is original and looks nearly perfect with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the gauges are crisp and clear. The original AM/FM cassette stereo works great in this El Camino and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter. The horn, stereo, wipers, power windows, power door locks, and blower motor on all speeds all work. This El Camino has factory air conditioning and it was converted to R134 a few years ago and works properly and blows cold on all fan speeds. The heater core was replaced recently and the heater works properly.
Mechanical
This El Camino is in excellent mechanical condition with only 62,861 actual miles on the original drive line and drives like new. A new battery was installed 2 years ago. We have driven this El Camino several times and it drives very nicely, it does not run hot, rides very tight, and is a true joy to drive. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car and it has no rattles or annoying noises. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay is very unmolested and is very factory correct and a lot of the lines, hoses, and wires are factory original. The exhaust is factory correct stock and original but the muffler was replaced. This El Camino has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owner and the overall condition of the truck and the way it runs and drives validates that. The outstanding originality of this El Camino and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special El Camino. It was stored in a climate controlled facility since new. A trailer hitch was professionally installed early in this trucks life but is believed to not have been used.
