Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1983 GMC Caballero SS which is in beautiful overall condition and priced to sell. This GMC stayed out west until 2021 spending most of its years with an elderly gentleman who had several cars until his recent passing. It was shipped from Idaho to Ohio in March of 2021. This GMC features a very nice re paint in factory woodland haze, a beautiful cloth interior, the original 305 engine, and some receipts/service records and original dealer manuals. This GMC is extremely solid with great lines and gaps and no visible rust anywhere on the body and no rust on the underside and no patch panels. This GMC is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Woodland Haze over Burgundy Cloth interior.
Exterior
The Factory Woodland Haze exterior is in beautiful restored stock condition. This GMC was repainted in Factory paint some years ago and still shows well. The paint is in great overall condition and has an excellent shine, great gloss, and is smooth to the touch. The underside is very solid with no patch panels or rust issues and the body is very solid and strait with no bubbling or cracked paint. Both bumpers are in good overall condition with no dents and they both have a good shine. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have near full tread left and are sized 205/75 R14 and drive well. The wheels are OEM originals and are in great overall shape and have no curb rash and sport original trim rings. The rear cargo compartment and spare tire storage area are both solid and clean and the original spare tire is still in place with the original jack. The rear tail gate works properly and the bed of this truck was covered in a Rhino Lining type material and its very solid with no rust issues. There is a trailer hitch and wiring installed for light hauling.
Interior
The Burgundy Cloth interior of this GMC is original stock condition. The seat covers are replacements and are in excellent overall condition with no major wear, stains, or seam splits and are very comfortable. The carpet looks great with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in great condition with no major cracks or fading and the gauges are crisp and clear. The original AM/FM cassette stereo looks good in this GMC and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in good condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds all work. This El Camino has factory air conditioning and all components remain in place and currently the system is not blowing cold air. I was told when the AC system is charged the system works well but will leak out over a long period of time and need charged again.
Mechanical
This GMC is in great mechanical condition and the original 305 engine still remains in the car and runs very well and a photo of the vin stamp is in the gallery showing matching numbers. The brakes were serviced with new calipers and pads and rotors and the radiator was serviced as well. We have driven this Caballero and it drives very well, it does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. There are no loud rattles or annoying noises. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were serviced. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay is very stock and original and has not been messed with or altered. The exhaust looks stock and sounds good and performs well. This GMC has been loved and well cared for by its previous owners and the overall condition of the truck and the way it runs and drives validates that. Its an excellent driver that would show well at local car shows and cruise inns.
