Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this rare Factory 4 Speed Trans Am with its numbers matching Pontiac 301 engine with low actual miles of 48,795. 1503 1979 Trans Am’s were produced with factory 4 speed and 301 Pontiac engine with factory Fisher T Tops. This car is very special because it still retains its numbers matching original Pontiac 301 engine and 4 speed manual transmission with matching vin stamps. This TA is in exceptional original show condition and comes in a very unique color combination of Nocturne Blue over Black interior. This TA features believed to be original paint with original decals, an original Black deluxe vinyl interior, and the numbers matching 301 Pontiac engine and numbers matching 4 speed manual transmission. This TA is very solid with great lines and gaps. There is no visible rust on the body or underside of this car, and this TA was rust proofed when new and the letter stating that comes with the car. This TA is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combination of Nocturne Blue (code 29) over Black deluxe vinyl interior code(19N). This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and factory build sheet pictured above. The Miles are stated as “Actual” on the clean Ohio title. A three ring binder with numerous dealer docs and books and brochures is with this special TA. This TA is a factory WS6 car which comes with 4 wheel disk brakes and upgraded handling performance package.

Exterior

The Blue exterior is in terrific original show condition. This TA is believed to have original paint with original decals, emblems and moldings and shows very well with consistent paint around the car. The paint is in great condition for its age and still shows very well and has a great shine and gloss. There is no checking in the paint or spider webbing and the paint is very consistent from panel to panel. Both bumpers are in great shape and the nose emblem and front bumper grills are in great condition. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have great tread left and are correctly sized 225/760/15 and the 15×8 OEM snowflake wheels are originals and are in show condition with no curb rash and the center caps and lug nuts are in excellent shape. All weather stripping, window sweeps, door seals, t tops seals, and trunk seal are great shape. The trunk is very solid and very clean with the original space saver spare tire, inflator bottle, jack and original trunk mat. The underside of this TA is outstanding and extremely solid and rust free. It was undercoated when new by Rusty Jones and shows no rust or corrosion and no patch panels.

Interior

The Black deluxe vinyl interior of this Trans AM is in original show condition. The seat covers are original and in great shape and are comfortable and the seat foam is very supportive. The carpet was replaced and is like new. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or warping or fading. The dash bezel is in great condition as well. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was replaced and is like new. And the package tray is original and in good shape too with correct factory speaker grills. The stereo was changed to a modern digital Retro Sound unit with new speakers and sounds and works great. Thankfully the dash was not cut for a modern CD player. All interior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds all work. Even the cigarette lighter works which is rarely the case.

Mechanical

This TA is in great mechanical condition and most importantly the original numbers matching Pontiac 301 engine and transmission are still in the car, see vin stamp photos of both above. This TA runs and drives well, it rides tight, drives strait down the road, does not run hot, and drives great. The engine bay still shows a lot of originality and is stock in appearance and was recently detailed to show condition to match the rest of the car. The factory air induction parts are still in place and the flex hose is a rare original piece in excellent shape. The brakes work as they should with no pulling from side to side. The exhaust has been upgraded with a Performance muffler and has a good exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds, the factory catalytic converter is still in place. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay area and adds to performance. Heater core has been bypassed. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and has been garaged all its life and shows very well. The outstanding original condition of this TA and the way it drives is a true testament to the prior owners care and love for this special car. This TA is truly the one to have being a low production car with the factory 4 speed manual transmission. Very few of these cars were made and very few are still original and very few are in factory Nocturne Blue paint.
