Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Factory 4 Speed W72/WS6 Trans AM which is nicely restored condition and comes with factory T Tops. This Trans Am features a nice repaint in factory Atlantis Blue with new decals, a beautiful blue interior, the original numbers matching 400 engine and four speed manual transmission, and PHS Documents and numerous service records. This Trans Am has no visible rust and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Atlantis Blue (code 24)over Blue deluxe interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included PHS documents. This is one of the most sought after collectible TA’s on the market being the last of the 400 4 speed cars, 1 of only 2985 ever made with factory T Tops. Very importantly the original engine and original four speed transmission is still in the car. Previous owner had the car for 16 years and treated this fine TA to numerous performance upgrades both in the drive train and suspension.

Exterior

The Atlantis Blue exterior is in really nice driver condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint about 18 years ago and still looks good today. The paint is in good overall condition and shows no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in good overall shape. The decals still look new and are in excellent shape. There are some minor imperfections and paint touch ups that may not be noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. There are a few smaller door dings and color touched up scratches around the car. The tires have good tread left and are sized 235/70/15 and the 8″ snowflake wheels are OEM originals in good shape. All weather stripping and window sweeps have been replaced. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, with a correct felt trunk mat and the inflator bottle which is almost always missing.

Interior

The Blue deluxe interior of this Trans Am is in good overall condition. The replacement seat covers are in great condition with no major noticeable wear. The carpet looks great with no stains, rips, or major holes. The original dash is in good condition with no fading or warping and the dash bezel is in good condition as well. The stereo was upgraded years ago to a after market 2 prong AM/FM digital Custom Audio Sound unit with mp3 hook ups. Both the rear speakers and front dash speakers sound great. Thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The door panels are in good shape and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray are in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The stereo, horn, wipers, power windows, and blower motor also work. Even the cigarette lighter works which is rarely the case. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition and comes with the original Pontiac 400 engine and the original four speed manual transmission. The engine was built around 10000 miles ago and a new Lunati Cam and lifter were installed, see receipt and Cam card. Numerous other upgrades were added making this TA a strong performer such as: Edelbrock Aluminum cylinder hears, Edelbrock RPM Performer intake, Holley Carb., Hooker Headers, MSD Ignition system, Roller Rockers, Hurst Shifter, Keith Black Pistons, etc. A new clutch was installed and the brakes were serviced. Several suspension parts were replaced such as, new rear leaf springs, new shocks, new body mounts, new sway bar mounts and end links, etc. A drop air cleaner base was added and Gunnco Shaker conversion. A new wiring harness was installed. A new rear sway bar was added and a new Oil pan was too.
We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it has not run hot, rides tight, and always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an great driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The 4 wheel disk brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Newer Flowmaster dual exhaust was added and it has an amazing exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car and all the components are in place but the AC belt was removed when the engine was built to enhance HP and performance.
