Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1979 El Camino SS which is in beautiful overall condition and priced to sell. This El Camino was factory ordered with a 4 speed manual transmission in a rarely seen color combination. Several past titles and ownership history are with the truck. This El Camino features a wonderful re paint in factory dark brown/black with correct SS decals, a mostly original tan interior, an upgraded 3838 crate engine and new crate 4 speed transmission, several receipts/service records, and numerous original dealer manuals and books. Very importantly the factory build sheet was found in the truck and original dealer docs and papers are with this truck. This El Camino is very solid with great lines and gaps and has no visible rust anywhere on the body and no rust on the underside and no patch panels. This El Camino is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Brown/Black SS over Tan vinyl interior. This SS El Camino is a rare one being a factory ordered 4 speed manual transmission truck in rarely seen exterior colors. The original tonneau cover and support rails come with this truck.

Exterior

The Factory Brown/Black SS exterior is in beautiful restored stock condition. This El Camino was repainted in Factory Brown/Black SS paint with new SS decals and looks terrific. The paint is in great overall condition and has an excellent shine, great gloss, and is smooth to the touch. The underside is very solid with no patch panels or rust issues and the body is very solid and strait with no bubbling or cracked paint. Both bumpers are in great overall condition with no dents and they both have a great shine. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have good tread left and are sized 205/75 R14 and the wheels are OEM originals and are in great overall shape and have no curb rash and sport original trim rings. The rear cargo compartment and spare tire storage area are both solid and clean and the original spare tire is still in place with the original jack. The rear tail gate works properly and the bed of this truck was also repainted and its very solid with no rust issues and the paint is very nice in the bed. A towing package was added to this truck and was only used a few times and is still in working condition.

Interior

The Tan vinyl interior of this El Camino is in great overall mostly stock condition. The original seat covers are still in great shape and are very comfortable and soft and look great in the car. The original carpet looks great with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in mint condition and looks like new with no cracks or warping or fading. The stereo was upgraded to a Sony digital cassette player with new 4×6 door speakers. Thankfully the dash was not cut for a modern CD player. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in excellent condition and not sagging at all. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor all work. This El Camino has factory air conditioning and all components remain in place and currently the system is blowing cold air.

Mechanical

This El Camino is in excellent mechanical condition and the upgraded 383 stroker crate engine runs very well and is a welcome upgrade to the factory 305. The 383 engine runs strong and several parts receipts for the engine build come with the truck totaling well over $5000. The crate engine was purchased around 2 years ago and has about 900 miles on it. A new crate 4 speed manual transmission was purchased at the same time and couples well with the 383 new engine. The clutch was rebuilt at the same time as well. A new edelbrock carb. and intake were also added along with a new aluminum radiator, new alternator, new mini starter, and fuel pump. The distributor and wires were upgraded too. We have driven this El Camino many times and it drives very well, it does not run hot, rides tight, has lots of power, and is a true joy to drive. There are no loud rattles or annoying noises. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The exhaust has been completely overhauled with new Hedman headers and Flowmaster mufflers. A new cross member was added to allow for true dual exhasut which gives this SS El Camino a muscle sound at idle and cruising speeds. Newer air shocks were added and they properly work. A rear sway bar was added. This El Camino has been loved and well cared for by its previous owners and the overall condition of the truck and the way it runs and drives validates that. Its an excellent driver that would show well at local car shows and cruise inns.
