Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1977 Pontiac Y82 Special Edition Trans AM which is in stunning fully restored frame off condition and shows very well. The engine was upgraded to a Pontiac 455 engine with a Y3 engine block code with several added performance upgrades. This Special Edition TA is PHS documented and is one of 3760 made with W72, T Tops, and with an automatic transmission. This Trans Am features a terrific repaint in factory Starlight Black paint with new decals, a fully restored Black Deluxe Cloth interior, an upgraded Pontiac 455 engine, and PHS Documents. This Trans Am is very solid with great lines and gaps and has no rust concerns or bubbling paint anywhere on the body. The underside is extremely solid with no rust or corrosion issues and has been fully detailed. The underside has been fully restored with numerous upgrades in the suspension, braking, and bracing. This Trans AM is finished in the desirable color combinations of Starlight Black(code 19) over Black Deluxe Cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the PHS documents included with the car. PHS documents validate this special Trans Am for being a factory Black and Gold Special Edition Trans AM.
Exterior
The Starlight Black exterior is in fully restored terrific fresh condition. This Trans Am was treated to a total professional restoration over the last 5-6 years. The exterior was treated to a total restoration including a fantastic repaint in Black with all new decals and striping with replacement decals, new bumper grills, and a new nose emblem. The paint is in excellent condition and the body is in fantastic condition and very solid and both bumpers are in excellent shape with no flaking or faded paint. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The underside of this TA is wonderful and very solid with no rust issues or corrosion. The underside was completely restored with numerous performance upgrades such as Front Coil Overs, 4 Wheel disc brakes, Tubular A Arms, Frame Connectors, Hotchis Sway Bars, new leaf springs and new shocks etc. New brake lines and fuel lines were installed as well. The tires are like new and have full tread left and the 17×9 Reproduction wheels are brand new with new center caps, trim rings, and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are new and in new condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with an original style trunk mat and added sub woofer. Parts from a 77 firebird parts car was used while this TA was fully disassembled and frame off restored. As much OEM metal was used as possible in the restoration and emphasis was focused on utilizing the parts car versus buying new reproduction sheet metal where needed. For example the complete firewall was used during the restoration from the parts car. Custom work was done to the replacement firewall to accommodate the vintage air system and the factory AC evaporator box was not retained. Several areas were smoothed over and holes filled in firewall for a sophisticated appearance.
Interior
The Black Deluxe Cloth interior of this TA is in fully restored condition. The seat covers are new and so is the seat foam and are like new in all ways. The carpet is new and was replaced and in like new shape. The dash is in great overall condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is correct and in excellent condition as well. The stereo was upgraded to a Custom Autosound unit with new dash and rear speakers and a amp mounted in the trunk along with a powered sub woofer. The door panels are new and in excellent shape and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray are both like new and were recently replaced. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should including the clock. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This TA is in great mechanical condition and the upgraded Pontiac 455 engine runs strong and has much more power than the stock 400. This engine runs very well and car performs nicely. The engine includes upgraded performance Edelbrock cylinder heads, intake manifold and carb. An upgraded dual performance exhaust with Douglas ceramic coated headers was installed under this TA and gives this car a true muscle car sound at idle and cruising speeds. The suspension was fully upgraded to a performance suspension including front coil overs with tubular A arms, Hotchis sway bars, new leaf springs, new shocks, Frame connectors, body mounts, sway bar mounts, and new end links. A new aluminum radiator was added. A 10 bolt rear end was added on this TA. 4 Wheel disc brakes were added with new lines, hoses, pads, and calipers. A new performance starter was added. Vintage air was added to this TA which has cold AC and warm heat. Its a complete new system which was professionally installed and works far better than a restored factory system. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. This TA is a nice driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay was also fully detailed while the engine was removed.
