This Stunning 1978 Factory Martinique Blue over Black deluxe vinyl Trans AM has been nicely restored and is a wonderful color combination. This documented Trans Am comes with PHS documents. This special TA features a beautiful repaint with new decals, a terrific Black Deluxe vinyl interior, a 4 speed manual transmission, a W72 Pontiac 400 Engine, and PHS documents. This Trans Am has no visible rust anywhere and is solid with great lines and gaps. The underside was heavily undercoated when new which has kept this TA solid. The underside still shows a lot of the undercoating which is not pretty but effective. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Martinique Blue over Black deluxe vinyl interior. This is the factory color combination as shown on the trim tag and included PHS documents.
Exterior
The Blue exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Trans Am features a repaint in Martinique Blue paint which is in great overall condition and shows well. New decals were added after the repaint and look like new on the car and replacement sail panel emblems were also added. The paint is in great overall condition and has a nice gloss and is smooth to the touch and there are no signs of visible rust around the body or underneath. Both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. The BF Goodrich tires are new with full tread left and the 8″ Snowflake wheels are new reproduction wheels with new center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition and were replaced. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original trunk mat.
Interior
The Black vinyl interior of this Trans Am is in very nice condition. The seat covers are in good overall condition and are comfortable and show well. The carpet is in great condition with no major rips or stains. The original dash is in excellent condition and has no cracks or fading and the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The dash bezel is in good shape too. The AM FM 8 track stereo still works and sounds good and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels still look nice and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was just replaced and is like new. The package tray was just replaced too and is new. The lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The horn works as does the blower motor and wipers. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever and look how clean that ashtray is.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in good mechanical condition and the Pontiac 400 engine runs well. True dual exhaust was added which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. This TA runs and drives well and the steering is tight and the brakes are sound. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. New spark plug wires were added with correct wire looms and wire loom guides. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car but some of the AC parts have been removed.
The original compressor and AC lines come with the car.
