This Stunning 1978 Factory WS6 4 Speed Trans AM has been nicely restored about 7 years ago and shows well. This documented Trans Am comes with PHS documents and a binder full of restoration receipts. This special TA features a nice repaint in factory sterling silver, a terrific Red Deluxe cloth interior, the original factory 4 speed manual transmission and a nicely built Pontiac 400 Engine, and PHS documents and numerous restoration receipts. This Trans Am has several performance upgrades in the driveline and in the suspension. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Sterling Silver over Red deluxe cloth interior. These special low production 4 Speed Trans Am’s are some of the most sought after collectible TA’s on the market. They continue to increase in value and desirability. PHS documents and a binder full of restoration receipts come with the car and validate this as a factory WS6 four speed TA.
Exterior
The Silver exterior is in nice restored condition. This Trans Am features a repaint from approximately 7 years ago in Sterling Silver which is in good overall condition and still shows well. The decals were replaced after the repaint and look great on the car. New sail panel emblems were installed after the paint work was completed. The paint is in nice driver condition and has a good gloss and is smooth to the touch with a nice shine. There are some minor touch ups around the car and minor imperfections as car has been driven. The tires have good tread left and the 8″ Snowflake wheels are Year One replacements which look like new. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition. The door seals and trunk seals were replaced and the window sweeps were as well. Trunk is very solid and clean with a replacement trunk mat. A new windshield was installed and looks great on the car.
Interior
The Red interior of this Trans Am is in great condition. The seat covers were replaced and are in great condition with no seam splits or tears and are in like new overall condition. The carpet was replaced and is in like new overall condition. The original dash is in excellent condition and has no cracks or fading and the dash bezel looks like new. A modern stereo has been added with upgraded 6×9 speakers. The door panels were replaced and are like new and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was replaced and so were the sun visors. The package tray is in good condition and was replaced. The lights and gauges work as they should. The horn works as does the blower motor and wipers. This is a factory AC car and the AC system has been serviced and a new modern compressor was added. Fan switch is a little finicky and only works on low and high, most likely needs a new relay. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever and look how clean that ashtray is.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition with a nicely rebuilt Pontiac 400 engine and the original four speed manual transmission. The engine has been nicely rebuilt with performance goodies added and runs and drives strong. True dual exhaust was added with Flowmaster mufflers and Ram Air manifolds which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Several suspension components have been replaced such as new bilstein shocks, new front and rear sway bar mounts, new front coil springs, new rear leaf springs, frame connectors, new end links, new ball joints, new a arm bushings, and new body mounts. A newer fuel and water pump were added. A newer carb. and distributor with wires were added. In 2015 the engine was removed for upgrades and the engine was repainted at that time. This TA runs and drives very well and shifts well. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were serviced in 2015. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car and the AC system was serviced and a new compressor was added and blows cold air.
