Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this one of a kind 1978 Mustang Mustang which is in nice driver restored condition with 400HP. This Mustang features a nice paint job in Pearl White with Cobra II decals, a nicely white/tan interior, and an excellent strong running engine with automatic transmission. The engine is a rebuilt 351 with 400 HP which is balanced and blueprinted. There have only been two owners of this fine Mustang. The original owner had the car from new until 1989 and the second owner had the car from 1989 until 5/2021.
Exterior:
The Peal White paint is in great overall condition and the decals were replaced and the stripes were painted on. Car was painted about 5 years ago but still shows well. The bumpers and in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. The Centerline 14″ Wheels look good on the car and the BF Goodrich tires have decent tread left and drive fine. The rear hatch works as it should and all weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. The hatch struts were just replaced and work perfectly. There are a few paint blisters by the top of the t tops and one of the t top trim pieces are missing. The passenger t top has a crack in it, see photo.
Interior:
The white/tan interior of this Mustang is in good condition and was restored about 6 years ago. The seat covers are in great shape and show no excessive wear, rips or stains. The door panels were custom made and are in great shape and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The carpet is in overall good shape. The headliner is in great shape and not sagging with no rips or stains. The JVC stereo is an upgraded digital cassette player but no speakers are hooked up. The speedo cable is not hooked up or working properly.
Mechanical:
The upgraded 351 engine runs great and shows well and the automatic transmission shifts properly. The engine has an estimated 400 horse power and features several performance upgrades. The 351 engine was bored .30 over and 10.5 Keith Black pistons were installed along with an extreme energy comp cam and roller rockers. Edelbrock aluminum heads were added along with a new Edelbrock Air Gap intake and new Edelbrock Carb. Custom Hedman headers were added along with custom 3″ Flowmaster exhaust. A new 4 core aluminum radiator was added with an electric fan added on a manual toggle switch. 3.55 rear gears were added and the front and rear suspensions were rebuilt. This Mustang is very fast and drives strong but also has good street manners. The engine bay area is nicely detailed as seen in the photos and the engine surround was painted during the restoration.
