This 1978 Ford Mustang II is one of approximately 4,300 examples equipped with the King Cobra package, which added special trim, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, and a 302ci V8. The car is finished in Yellow over a Black vinyl interior with a four-speed manual transmission. This King Cobra has factory literature, service records, a Deluxe Marti Report, and a clean Ohio title showing the mileage as “Actual.” This KC only has 69,606 Actual Miles and is painted in the rarest color offered being 1 of 50 4 speed Yellow KC’s built. Per the elite Marti Report This King Cobra is a one of five KC’s made with the options that were factory ordered. An elite Marti report is included validating this as a factory KC.
The car was refinished in Yellow with red stripes during previous ownership sometime around 2018/2019. The King Cobra package added a snake decal on the hood, King Cobra badging, and pinstriping around the side windows, decklid, wheel arches, and rockers. Other features include a rear lip spoiler, painted bumpers and mirror caps. The paint and decals are in excellent condition and the paint has a nice gloss and shine and is smooth to the touch. The paint is beautiful and fresh and the decals and pinstripes look new and show very well on the car.
New 15″ Ansen 4 lug wheels are fitted with newer 205/60/15 BF Goodrich tires at each corner which have full tread left and date codes of 2021. The car was factory-equipped with power steering and power front disc brakes. The power brake booster is leaking and needs replaced and a new booster is in route. The exhaust was replaced from the cat back recently in a stock set up and sounds and looks factory. E-brake works properly and was recently replaced. New rear leaf spring and rear shocks were added recently. A new steering rack system was also recently added.
The cabin is mostly stock and features black vinyl upholstery and a matching dash, door panels, and carpet. Interior equipment includes two rear seats, an original 8 track stereo which still sounds good with newer speakers, an original shift knob, and manual wind-up windows. The rear hatch struts work properly and hold up the hatch well. The carpet is like new and is in great shape as is the rear carpet. The headliner was replaced and in great shape. Seat belts were restored and the dash pad is new.
The leather-wrapped sport steering wheel fronts a 6k-rpm tachometer, a speedometer and the other gauges are stock and work properly. The five-digit odometer shows 69,606 miles which are noted as actual. The seat covers are in great overall condition. The carpets are like new.
The 302ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and the car drives well. A newer battery was added. Engine bay area is mostly stock and shows well. The original battery bracing surround is still in place as is the original air induction system and air cleaner assembly. Horn, blower motor/heater, stereo, and gauges work properly.
