This 1978 Ford Mustang II is one of approximately 4,300 examples equipped with the King Cobra package, which added special trim, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, and a 302ci V8. The car is finished in Black over a Black Vinyl interior with an automatic transmission. This King Cobra has factory ordered T Tops, working factory ordered Air Conditioning, A Framed Elite Marti Report, a few service records, and a clean Ohio title showing the mileage 57,113 as “Actual.” This KC only has 57,113 Actual Miles and came from North Carolina. The exterior is stock in appearance. The paint and decals are stock and the car was repainted some years ago and shows as a decent driver. The underside of this KC looks as good as the top and shows no patches or touch ups. A Marti report is included and the factory trim tag is still in place on the radiator support validating this as a factory KC. This KC is one of just 74 units in these colors and trim with an automatic and T Tops and one of just 5 ordered with exact same options. The 57,113 miles have been validated as actual with the current title showing actual miles and several receipts documenting miles.

The car is stock in appearance and was painted years ago in stock colors. The King Cobra package added a snake decal on the hood, King Cobra badging, and pinstriping around the side windows, decklid, wheel arches, and rockers. Other features include a rear lip spoiler, painted bumpers and mirror caps. The paint and decals are in good overall condition. The hood decal appears to be original and the other decals and pin stripes appear to have been replaced when car was repainted. The bumpers are in decent shape but show some minor damage and the lower air dam shows some curb damage as well.

13″ lacy-spoke aluminum wheels feature orange accents and are fitted with 205/60/13 tires at each corner which have good tread left. The car was factory-equipped with power steering and power front disc brakes. The brakes stop and work like they should and were serviced with new front calipers and pads and hoses with some new brake lines and a new master cylinder. True Dual exhaust is underneath this King and the car sounds great at idle and cruising speeds.

The cabin appears to be mostly original and features Black upholstery and a matching dash, door panels, and carpet. Interior equipment includes two rear seats, an original 8 track stereo, an original shifter, and manual wind-up windows. The rear hatch struts work properly and hold up the hatch well. The seat covers are original and in fantastic shape and are very comfortable. The carpet was replaced and is like new with no rips, holes, or stains.

The leather-wrapped sport steering wheel fronts a 6k-rpm tachometer, a speedometer and the other gauges are stock and work properly, outside of the tach which works intermittingly. The five-digit odometer shows 57,113 miles which are actual. The horn, blower motor on all speeds, cigarette lighter, wipers, interior and exterior lights, and turn signals all work. Event the dome light and map light work properly.

The original 302ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels through an original automatic transmission and the car drives wonderfully. The transmission was recently serviced and newer rear leaf springs and shocks were added. Fuel lines were replaced and a new gas tank was added. Engine bay area is clean and nicely detailed. The factory AC system was serviced and a new compressor was added and some new AC lines were installed. AC is currently blowing cold air and works well. A new aluminum Edelbrock intake was added as were custom Cobra valve covers and Ford air cleaner.
