Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this Stunning 1968 4 Speed Corvette Convertible which has been fully restored over a 5 year period. This Corvette was given as a gift to the father of a 12 year New Orleans Saints football player. The father once owned a 1968 Black Corvette convertible and the son wanted to surprise him with a similar car but with a no expense sparred total modern resto mod flavored frame off restoration. The total frame off restoration took approximately 5 years to complete and the second stage of the restoration is fully documented via a restoration log book, two cd’s full of restoration photos, and a internet blog. Over $30,000 dollars has been spent since 2017 during the next level restoration. The initial restoration occurred in New Orleans where the body was removed from the frame and the frame was powder coated. The body was fully prepped and painted in black base/clear coat paint. The interior was fully restored in leather including and upgraded blue tooth sound system. The underside of the car was fully restored with top of the line suspension parts and all systems were restored. The 327 engine has been fully rebuilt and all engine bay systems were restored and upgraded with high end components. The total cost of the frame off restoration is approximately $107,000. This Corvette has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This Corvette is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Black over Black interior. This Corvette is absolutely stunning in turn key fully restored condition. Odometer was reset to zero after the restoration and shows 440 miles driven since restoration.
In the three ring Restoration Log Binder provided by Eastern Corvettes each summary Labor invoice is followed by a full written description explaining each invoice in detail. This Log is an excellent source to validate work performed on this special Corvette.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in beautiful fully restored condition. This Corvette features a body removed complete exterior restoration. The paint is in wonderful fresh condition and was completed about 4 years ago. The paint has an excellent shine and a deep gloss and is very smooth to the touch. Both chrome bumpers are in fantastic shape and all emblems have been replaced. The underside has been fully restored and features all new suspension and all systems have been fully restored with performance parts. The frame was removed from the car and powder coated and all lines, bushings, bolts, clips, hoses, clamps, hoses, have been replaced with performance parts. The underside is fully detailed and shows like new. The tires have around 500 miles on them and the wheels are OEM originals and are in excellent restored condition with original center caps and trim rings. All weather stripping, trim, and glass are in excellent new condition. The convertible top was replaced and is in like new condition. Headlights go up and down nicely and work as they should. The windshield wiper door works properly as well.
Interior
The Black interior of this Corvette is fully restored and in better than new condition. The interior has been completely redone in upgraded black leather. All systems and gauges were fully restored. The leather seat covers are like new with no major wear, no rips, or seam splits. These leather seat covers are very comfortable and soft to the touch and a nice upgrade. Both front and rear carpets have been replaced. The original dash was recovered in leather and is in superb condition with no cracks, no warping, and no fading. An upgraded custom sound system was installed with blue tooth capability and a retro modern style head unit. A custom sub woofer enclosure is located in the rear storage area. The storage area also houses the crossover and amp and other system pieces. Front speakers were upgraded as well. The upgraded leather door panels are in new condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor all work. The warning buzzers and lights all work and so does the blinker indicator lights. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. The car has a like new leather smell.
Mechanical
This Corvette is in excellent mechanical condition and all systems have been fully restored with upgraded performance parts. The 327 engine has been fully rebuilt and is fresh with only 440 on rebuild. Approximate HP numbers are 350 and the car drives easily and is not fussy but has plenty of power. The side pipes are in like new condition and give this special Corvette an awesome muscle car sound at idle and cruising speeds. The steering system was fully upgraded with a top of the line power steering system and works excellently. A new upgraded steering wheel was added and an entire steering wheel column was added with tilt steering wheel. The brakes were fully serviced with upgraded Wilwood four wheel disc brakes. The windshield wiper door operating mechanism works wonderfully. The carb. and fuel pump is newer and all fuel lines were replaced as well as the brake lines. We have driven this car several times and it always performs extremely well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. Its like driving a new 52 year old performance car. The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is contagious. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs exceptionally well. This Corvette is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were serviced and upgraded. Also, the engine is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and enhances performance.
