Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1977 Pontiac Formula which is in fantastic mostly restored condition and is a factory formula with the W72 high horsepower Pontiac 400 engine. PHS Documents come with this Formula and most importantly the original numbers matching engine is still in this car. This Formula was treated to a restoration over the last year and was just finished in June of 2026. This Formula has been restored to a high level and looks and drives fantastic. This Formula is very solid with excellent body lines and gaps and there is no rust anywhere around the car and no bubbling paint. Frame and under carriage is also very solid with no rust or past rust repairs. This Formula features a brand new high quality paint job with new decals, a beautiful deluxe interior, the original w272 Pontiac 400 engine, a rebuilt TH350 auto transmission, and PHS documents and numerous receipts. This Formula is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Red over Black deluxe interior. Pontiac produced 2,491 Formulas with the high-performance W72 400 cid engine in 1977. This engine produced 200 hp and featured the RPO W72 performance package. A breakdown of the 1977 Formula 400 production by transmission is as follows:4-Speed Manual (M21): 1,735 units Automatic (M40): 756 units In total, out of the 21,801 Firebird Formulas produced in 1977, fewer than 12% were equipped with the highly sought-after W72 package.
Exterior
The Red exterior is in superb restored condition. This Formula was treated to a professional repaint earlier this year and has a show quality look. The paint quality is very nice with an excellent gloss and is smooth to the touch. There is no rust anywhere on the body of this Formula and the lines and gaps are good. Both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint and no spider webbing. The front grills were replaced during the repaint and so was the decals. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have great tread left and were recently replaced and are sized 225/70/15. The 15×7 Rally wheels are OEM original wheels which are in great shape with nice center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in excellent new condition. The door seals, trunk seal, window sweeps, and window seals are all new. Trunk is very solid and clean with a new trunk mat. Underside of this car is extremely clean and in detailed condition and was repainted when the car was disassembled. This car required no rust repair prior to the repaint and the body was in excellent shape prior to repaint.
Interior
The Black deluxe interior of this Formula is in terrific overall condition. The seat covers are very nice with no noticeable wear and are very comfortable. The carpet was replaced and in like new condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. The dash is in excellent overall condition and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The stereo was upgraded to a blue tooth CD player and it sounds great with the newer speakers. The door panels are in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner has been replaced and is like new condition. The package tray was recently replaced and is in like new condition and newer 6×9 speakers were added. All interior lights and gauges work as they should. The stereo, wipers, horn, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Formula is in excellent mechanical condition with the original w72 Pontiac 400 engine which is original to the car with matching numbers. The TH 350 transmission was completely rebuilt. Many receipts are included with the car. We have driven this Formula numerous times on the streets and highways and it always performs very well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs very well. This Formula is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were fully serviced and upgraded with new master cylinder, new booster, new calipers, new pads, new wheel cylinders, and new hoses and lines. A new gas tank was installed and all new full lines were added, a new fuel pump was added too. True dual exhaust was recently added which gives this Formula an excellent rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Suspension has been upgraded including new leaf springs, shocks, end links, ball joints, bushings, body mounts, etc. New alternator was also added. An Aluminum Cold Case radiator was just added along with a new fan clutch. Also, the engine is exceptionally clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and adds to performance. This Formula has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and nearly all wear items have been replaced. The outstanding way this Formula looks and drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special car.
