Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this very unique 1983 Plymouth Scamp GT which is in fantastic overall stock condition with low actual miles of 74,347. The Scamp GT was only produced in 1983 in limited numbers with only 3564 ever produced and only 1380 of them being factory GT’s. This Scamp came from California and is completely rust free and has not have any rust repairs or metal repairs and shows no corrosion issues anywhere. There is no bubbling or cracked paint anywhere on the truck. This Scamp GT features a very nice repaint with new decals, a beautiful original interior, and the original complete drive line. This Scamp GT is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Burgundy over Black Vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this Scamp but also by the Ohio title pictured above stating the mileage as “Actual.”
Exterior
The Burgundy exterior is in terrific overall condition. This Scamp was treated to a professional repaint about 6 years ago with all new decals applied and still shows very well. The paint is in great condition and has a terrific shine and is smooth to the touch and has a nice gloss. There are no signs of visible rust anywhere around the truck or under the truck. This Scamp GT is one of the 1380 GT’s which were only produced in 1983. Both bumpers are in great overall condition. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires were replaced a few years ago and have nearly full tread left and are sized 195/55/16 and drive just fine. The aftermarket wheels are in excellent overall shape with no curb rash and have a great shine. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in good condition but the drivers window sweep is showing its age. The rear cargo compartment is very solid and clean and the factory jack is in the stock position. The underside of this Scamp is honest and extremely solid and rust free, and has not had any touch ups. The rear tail gate works well and the bed has a spray on bed liner.
Interior
The Black Vinyl interior of this Scamp GT is original and in superb condition. The seat covers are factory original and in near perfect condition for their age with no major wear, stains, or seam splits. The carpet is original and looks very nice with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the gauges are crisp and clear. The stereo was just upgraded to a modern mp3 player and looks and sounds great and thankfully the dash was not cut for the installation. A new antenna mast was just installed as well and radio reception is great. An original style radio comes with the car upon sale and pictured above. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter. The horn, stereo, wipers, indicator lights, warning buzzers, and blower motor on all speeds all work. The gauge clock works properly and keeps accurate time which is amazing.
Mechanical
This Scamp is in good mechanical condition with only 74,347 actual miles on the original drive line and drives well. A new battery was installed last month. We have driven this Scamp several times and it drives well, it does not run hot, rides good, and is a true joy to drive. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay appears stock. The exhaust appears stock and works as it should. This Scamp has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and the overall condition of the truck validates that. A new electric fuel pump was recently installed. You can hear the fuel pump in the video while showing the passenger side interior with the truck running.
