Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1966 Factory 4 Speed 289 Mustang which is in fully restored condition with an absolutely beautiful color combination. This awesome Mustang is in show and go condition from top to bottom and a blast to drive. This Mustang features a beautiful professional repaint, a fully restored interior, and a nicely rebuilt 289 engine with smooth shifting 4 speed manual transmission. This Mustang is exceptionally solid with great lines and gaps with no signs of visible rust anywhere around the car. This Mustang is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Emberglo over Parchment standard vinyl interior. Over $4200 was spent on this fine Mustang to make things even better on February 22, 2023. A full car inspection was performed at that time and many maintenance items were serviced such as: brakes, ignition, coolant flush, shifter linkage, fixing minor leaks, changing oil and rear gear oil, spark plugs, etc. See included receipts for work performed.
Exterior
The Emberglo exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Mustang was treated to a professional repaint in Emberglo with all new emblems, chrome, and badging. The car was taken apart and painted properly and looks absolutely stunning. The paint is in terrific condition and fresh and both bumpers are in great shape with no pitting or scratches in the chrome which shines wonderfully. The bumpers were re-chromed and look like new as does the rest of the chrome parts. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have great tread left and are sized 205/70/14 and the 14″ wheels are in fantastic shape with no curb rash and shine like new. All weather stripping and window sweeps are newer and in excellent condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with a full size spare tire, trunk mat, and jack and tools.
Interior
The Parchment vinyl interior of this Mustang has been fully restored. The seat covers have been replaced and are like new with no noticeable wear anywhere. The carpet has been replaced as well with no stains, rips, or holes. The dash is in great condition with no cracks and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The stereo works as is should and sounds good. Thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The door panels have been replaced and are in like new condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray have also been replaced and both are in great condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should. The stereo, tach, wipers and heater all work, even the cigarette lighter works. The horn in the steering wheel is not working but and aftermarket horn has been added on the steering column and works. A Sunpro Tach was added on the steering column and works great. All window cranks were replaced and all windows go up and down as they should. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. A manual hood lock was installed via a cable which is installed under the dash.
Mechanical
This Mustang is in great mechanical condition and runs and drives very well and has plenty of power and handles nicely. The engine is very fresh and was fully rebuilt recently and runs strong and pulls hard. A performance cam and intake and Holley carb. were added. The rear gears were changed to 3.05 gears with Posi Traction. Although we do not have receipts for the build it is obvious that the engine was rebuilt by the way it drives and looks in the photos. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, rides tight, and always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Mustang is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. The dual exhaust sound great on this Mustang at idle and cruising speeds. New shocks were installed and several suspension parts and bushings were replaced. A new drive shaft was installed as were frame connectors and ladder bars. Also, the engine bay is meticulously clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The oil pressure gauge appears to be a bit sticky and may need a new sending unit.
