Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Factory 4 Speed W72/WS6 Trans AM which is in fully restored condition and comes with factory T Tops. This Trans Am features a beautiful repaint in factory Heritage Brown with new decals, a fully restored interior, and the original numbers matching 400 engine and four speed manual transmission, see vin stamp photos above. This Trans Am has no visible rust and is very solid with great lines and the paintwork was completed in 5/2020. No metal repair was required during the repaint. This TA was rust proofed by the selling dealer and the sticker is still on the radiator support from 1979. This TA has only had two owners since new. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Heritage Brown (code 69)over Hobnail deluxe interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included PHS documents. This is one of the most sought after collectible TA’s on the market being the last of the 400 4 speed cars, 1 of only 2985 ever made. Very importantly the original engine and original fours speed transmission is still in the cars.

Exterior

The Heritage Brown exterior is in beautiful restored condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in factory Heritage Brown with all new decals in the last few months and was just completed in 5/2020. The paint is in great condition and very fresh with no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking or faded paint. The decals look new and are in excellent shape. The front bumper grills and nose emblem were replaced. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The BF Goodrich tires are brand new and have full tread left and are sized 245/60/15 and the 8″ snowflake wheels are brand new reproductions and are in excellent shape with no curb rash and come with new center caps and lug nuts. All weather stripping and window sweeps are newer and in excellent condition. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, with a correct felt trunk mat and the inflator bottle which is almost always missing.

Interior

The Hobnail deluxe interior of this Trans Am has been restored to stock. The seat covers have been replaced and are like new with no noticeable wear anywhere. The carpet is like new as well with no stains, rips, or major holes. The original dash is in good condition with no fading or warping and the dash bezel is in new condition and was just restored by Randy Combs. The steering wheel was replaced with a new expensive leather unit and the feel is excellent. The stereo was upgraded years ago to a after market 2 prong AM/FM digital Retrosound unit with usb and mb3 hook ups. Both the rear speakers and front dash speaker were changed to retrosound units. Thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The door panels have been replaced and are in good condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray have also been replaced and both are in good condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The stereo, wipers and blower motor also work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. There are two very fine hairline cracks above the glove box door.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition and comes with the original Pontiac 400 engine and the original four speed manual transmission. This TA has been treated to numerous recent maintenance repairs such as: new head gaskets, new exhaust manifold gaskets, oil pan gaskets, valve cover gaskets, rear seal, carb. rebuild, clutch and flywheel work and transmission service, coolant system flush, new distributor cap and new spark plug wires, and new spark plugs. About 8 years ago every rubber mount or bushing was replaced on the underside of this TA at a cost of over $1000, see receipts. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it has not run hot, rides tight, and always a joy to drive. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The 4 wheel disk brakes were serviced and do not pull and stop as they should. New exhaust was added about 8 years ago on this TA and it has an amazing exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds and no noticeable drone. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and adds to performance.
