Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this amazing 1979 Mustang Cobra which is in fantastic condition with low actual miles of 10,706 Actual documented miles. This Mustang was owned by the original owner until 2020 and is mostly unrestored condition. This Mustang is the first production year for the new Fox Body Platform and features the rare and sought after Cobra package. This Mustang features nice factory paint, a stunningly beautiful interior, the original numbers matching complete drive line, Marti Report, Window Sticker, and original data plate. This Mustang is absolutely solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the car or under the car, and is very solid with great lines and gaps. This Cobra was heavily rust proofed when new with the rust proofing sticker still in place on the rear window. This Mustang is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Yellow over Black interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the Marti report pictured above. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this Mustang but also by the Ohio title stating the mileage as “Actual.” Previous titles also show the mileage as actual. This Cobra has only been titled in the state of Ohio by two Owners.
Exterior
The Yellow exterior is in very nice stock condition. This Mustang is believed to have mostly original paintwork with some touch ups and a new Cobra decal package. The paint is in great condition for its age and there are no signs of visible rust anywhere around the car or under the car. The decals are brand new as is the hood emblem and they look fantastic on the car and are correct for the decal package. There is no bubbling paint anywhere on the car and no crazing or cracked paint anywhere on the car. Both bumpers are in great overall condition. This Mustang is very strait with great gaps and lines. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. The TRX wheels are in fantastic shape with no curb rash and the TRX tires have good tread left and drive fine and look great on the car. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. The hatch is factory correct and in near perfect shape and the spare tire looks like it has never been removed and the jack and tools are in the factory placement. The underside of this Mustang is very honest and extremely solid and rust free, and has not had any touch ups. There are several tags, markings, and factory marks and stamps noticeable. All glass is in good condition.
Interior
The Black interior of this Mustang is in superb condition. The Recaro seats look great in the car and really compliment the factory interior. There is no major wear on the seat covers and they are very comfortable with supportive seat foams. The carpet is original and looks nearly perfect with no stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no fading and the gauges are crisp and clear. The 8 track stereo looks great in the car and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. All interior lights and gauges work as they should. The horn, stereo, wipers, rear defrost, cigarette lighter, and blower motor on all speeds, all work. This Mustang has never been smoked in and there is no cigarette aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Mustang is in good mechanical condition with only 10,706 actual miles on the original drive line and drives great. I have only driven this Mustang a little bit as to keep the miles down but it drives and handles like new. The brakes work as they should, car steers as it should, and the car shifts as it should. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The engine is clean and stock and shows very well with a lot of originality. The engine bay is very unmolested and is very factory correct and all of the lines, hoses, clamps, and wires, etc. are factory original. This is a factory AC car and all AC components are still on the car and unmolested. The exhaust is factory correct and is in good condition and sounds like it should. Nothing has been painted or touched up anywhere in the engine bay on this car and no touch ups on the underside. This Cobra was heavily rust proofed when new with evidence of material still in engine bay and on the underside of this Mustang. The material is still pliable and doing its job keeping this Cobra rust free. There are factory markings, tags, paint dobs in many factory places on the car and noted in the photos. This Mustang has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and the overall condition of this car and the way it runs and drives validates that. The outstanding originality of this Mustang and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special Mustang. This is a show and go Mustang GT which is a true investment grade vehicle and should continue to go up in value and should earn trophies in its future.
