Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this 1979 Z28 which is in beautiful stock condition with low actual miles of 86,306. This Z28 is in stock condition and has remained in one family since new. The son bought this car new then sold it to his dad who owned the car until his recent passing.
I bought the car from his widow. This Z28 features beautiful Carmine paint, a mostly original Carmine interior, the original numbers matching 350 engine, and the factory build sheet which I found in the rear seat back. This Z28 is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Carmine Red (code 77) over Carmine vinyl (code 74R) interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and build sheet pictured above. This Z28 has the very sought after factory Fisher T Tops and the very rare drivers side adjustable seat back.
Exterior
The Carmine exterior is in very nice stock condition. This Z28 was treated to a professional repaint in factory Carmine red and shows very well and the decals look great on the car. The paint is in great condition and is smooth to the touch and has a nice shine and gloss. Both bumpers are in great shape shape with no flaking or faded paint. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have near full tread left and are sized 225/70/15 but are old and were installed in 1991, see receipt. They drive just fine and only have 10K miles on them but should be changed for safe driving. The OEM Rally wheels are in excellent shape with no curb rash and look classic on the car. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and original trunk mat.
Interior
The Carmine vinyl interior of this Z28 is in great mostly original condition. The original seat covers are in good overall condition but the drivers seat outside bolster panel has some fraying and was touched up. That single panel could easily be replaced by a seat professional. These are original covers not some cheap aftermarket covers. The carpet is in good overall condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The stereo has been upgraded to a cassette player and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. A working graphic EQ. was added to the map pocket. The door panels are original and in nice condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in good condition and still in tact. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the tach. The horn, stereo, blower motor, and wipers also work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. This is a factory AC car and everything is still in tact but the system is currently not blowing cold air.
Mechanical
This Z28 is in good mechanical condition with only 86,306 actual miles on the original 350 engine. The original engine remains in the car and is numbers matching as seen in the vin stamp photo from the engine block. In the video one can observe this car running with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Z28 is a good driver that feels good on the road. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were recently serviced with a new master cylinder and new front brake calipers and pads. The exhaust appears to be in stock condition and the original catalytic converter is still in place with dual mufflers. This car is fun to drive and turns heads where ever it goes. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay of this Z28 is very stock and unmolested. This is a factory AC car and all factory components are in place and currently the AC system does not blow cold air. Car has 30 year old tires on it plus was sitting for a awhile prior to our purchase so would benefit from some basic tuning. Car was started and driven around the block every so often.
