Cincy Classic Cars is proud to share this stunning 1977 Special Edition Trans AM which comes with factory ordered 4 speed manual transmission coupled with a Pontiac W72 400 engine and PHS Documents to validate this SE TA. Only 2699 1977 Trans Am’s came from the factory in this configuration. This SE TA comes with PHS documents, many service records, and several dealer books and manuals. This TA features a beautiful repaint in factory Black with gold pin stripes with newer decals, a beautiful Black deluxe interior, and PHS documents. This TA is very solid with great lines and gaps and has no rust issues or bubbling paint anywhere around the car. This TA is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Black over Black deluxe vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and the included PHS documents. This SE 4 Speed TA was restored around 3 years ago at the previous owners brother in laws restoration shop. He had the car striped down and fully restored the underside of this car and detailed it correctly in factory red oxide primer. The underside was fully rebuilt with new suspension parts, new brakes front to back and new fuel system front to back.
Exterior
The Black exterior is in terrific restored condition. This SE TA was treated to a professional repaint and shows very well, looks fresh, and in my opinion looks show quality. The paint is in great condition and both bumpers are in great shape. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have near full tread left and are sized 255/60/15 and the 15×7 snowflake wheels were fully restored and are in excellent condition. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition and were replaced when the car was repainted 3 years ago. Trunk is very solid and clean with an original style trunk mat, the jack and accessories, and spare tire. The original jack and lug wrench are still in place. Underside is nice solid shape with no rust concerns. The body and underside are both very solid and there are no rust bubbles anywhere and no cracked paint.
Interior
The Black interior of this SE TA is in great overall condition. The seat covers are original and still in great shape with no major wear, rips or tears. The carpet in in like new condition with no major stains, rips, or holes and was replaced 3 years ago. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in great condition as well. The dash was sent out to Al Knoch and was fully restored and the dash bezel was restored by Randy Combs. The original stereo sounds excellent and the rear and dash speakers were replaced and sound great. The stereo was sent out and upgraded and restored with modern technology to play music from your phone or other device and the 8 track was restored too. See $1300 receipt in gallery for this service. The package tray is like new and not warped and was replaced. The headliner is like new and all headliner trim is in excellent shape. All exterior lights and gauges work as they should, including the clock. The wipers, stereo, cigarette lighter, horn, and blower motor all work. The factory AC was serviced and upgraded to R134 and works properly and blows cold air. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This SE TA is in good mechanical condition and comes with a Pontiac W72 400 engine and 4 speed manual transmission. The factory ordered W72 Pontiac 400 engine is the higher horsepower engine and the factory 4 speed manual transmission make this the most desired performance package available in 1977. Carb. was sent out and fully rebuilt see included receipt. This TA performs well, does not run hot, rides tight, and is a true joy to drive. I have been on the highway with it many times and it drives very well and has great manners on the road. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This TA is an good driver that feels good on the road and at highway speeds. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs good. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were serviced with a new brake booster and master cylinder. New brake calipers, pads, and hoses were added along with new brake lines. A new gas tank was added with new fuel lines and hoses and new fuel pump. This TA has upgraded Dynomax exhaust with a high flow cat. converter which gives it a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. A coolant flush was recently done and a new cold case radiator was added. A new starter was added too. New leaf springs and shocks were added which gives this TA a great stance. New spark plug and wires were added and new heater hoses and radiator hoses were added. Also, the engine is meticulously clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
