Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this fantastic survivor 1977 Oldsmobile Starfire “Mirage” which is in superb overall original condition with very low actual miles of 25,298. This Starfire “MIRAGE” is a unique 1 of 1 with all the modifications you see, including full Monza Mirage body kit, centerline wheels, graphics, were installed at the dealership prior to first buyer buying it. Car was built at an Ohio Oldsmobile dealer that was into boat racing and mimicked the rare Monza Mirage. It sat in the dealer showroom for a period of time before being sold. Original owner owned until 2007. The custom one of a kind original paint work is still original on the car and still shows very well as this car was always properly cared for and stored. The original 305 engine remains in the car as does the original four speed manual transmission. This Starfire features beautiful original custom paint, a near mint original Red interior, the original 305 engine, and several original dealer books and documents. This Starfire is very solid with great lines and gaps and was rust proofed when new. There is no rust or rust repairs and no bubbling or cracked paint. The underside is extremely solid with no rust or corrosion issues and no patches or repairs. This Starfire is finished in the desirable color combinations of Custom White paint over Red interior. The current Ohio title shows the miles as Actual as does the previous title.
Exterior
The Custom White exterior is in fantastic original condition. This Starfire has good paint with original painted on graphics. The believed to be original paint is in great overall condition for its age with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape. There is no bubbling paint anywhere on the body of this car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. The tires have great tread left but are older but have no cracking or noticeable flat spots. The 13″ Centerline style wheels are in great original condition. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in good original condition. Hatch is very solid and clean and factory correct with the original spare tire and jack, and the inflator bottle. The underside of this Starfire is exceptionally solid with no rust issues or concerns and no patches or repairs. The underside has been rust proofed when new to help prevent any rusting issues.
Interior
The Red interior of this Starfire is in terrific original condition. The original seat covers are in spectacular condition with no noticeable wear or fading or seam splits. These are factory original covers not some cheap aftermarket covers. The carpet is original with no major stains, rips, or holes and is in good condition. The original dash is in like new condition with no cracks or warping. The original stereo still sounds great and thankfully the dash has not been cut on for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in excellent condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in great condition. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter but the fuel gauge is not working and needs a new sending unit. The horn, all gauges, stereo, wipers, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever. It actually has a new car smell still which I have only seen on few classic cars in my career.
Mechanical
This Starfire is in excellent mechanical condition and the original 305 engine is still in the car, see vin stamp on engine pad in gallery. The engine runs very well and the car performs nicely. The original cam needed replaced and a new mild cam with an upgraded profile was just installed in the car. See photos of parts purchased and cam specs and photos of work performed. A new water pump was added and so was a new alternator. A previous owner sprayed blue paint carelessly in the engine bay and I completely took apart the engine bay area to properly detail the car back to stock appearance. See photos of the work performed and the end result is very appealing. This Starfire is very unmolested and the engine bay is stock in appearance and shows well. The hoses, clamps, vacuum lines, emissions, stickers are all stock. All tags, stickers, zip ties, looms, etc. are stock. The exhaust is stock factory correct and still retains the catalytic converter. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time and runs well. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. Many gaskets were replaced during the cam swap and the timing chain was upgraded as well. This 4 speed Starfire is very peppy with the upgraded cam and new lifters and runs very well and pulls strong for a 305. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos.
