Cincy Classic Cars is proud to share this factory 1978 Ford Mustang Cobra II with sought after unique factory T Tops. This Cobra features a terrific re paint in White with Red Billboard Cobra II decals, a mostly stock original red plaid interior, a good running 302 engine with automatic transmission, and numerous original dealer docs, brochures, and paperwork. This Mustang is very solid with no visible rust any where and the underside is very solid too. This Cobra was rust proofed when new which really did the job. This car has great lines and gaps and shows very well. The factory radiator buck tag is still in place with the “CB” stamped on the tag proving this car to be a factory Cobra. The included window sticker shows this Mustang to be a Factory Cobra as well. The rear window louvers can be a little noisy when going over large bumps as you can hear in the middle of the video. Â
Exterior:
The White paint is in great overall condition and the decals were replaced and the exterior shows nicely. Car was painted years ago but still looks fresh and is a very attractive color combination. There is no visible rust and no known patches around the car. The bumpers are in great shape with no flaking paint but the front bumper is missing its rubber insert. Wheels have been upgraded to 14″ American Racing wheels and are in great shape. The tires are sized 215/70/14 and have full tread left and were just installed 7/2023. The rear hatch works as it should and all weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition. The hatch struts hold up the hatch easily. The Factory T Tops come on and off easily and are an excellent option on these Mustangs.
Interior:
The red plaid cloth interior of this Mustang is in great condition. The seat covers are originals and in good overall condition and show no excessive wear. The door panels are original and in great shape and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The carpet was replaced and shows no holes, rips, or stains. The headliner is in great shape and not sagging with no rips or stains. The original stereo works and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. Interior lights and exterior lights work as do the turn signals. All gauges and blower motor works. Wipers work. Horn does not work. This car has not been smoked in, there is no smoke aroma what so ever. AC and heater are not working and most of the AC parts have been removed.
Mechanical:
This Mustang is in great overall mechanical condition. The 302 engine runs great and shows well and the automatic transmission shifts good. This Mustang runs and drives nicely and has plenty of power. Original style exhaust remains on this Mustang and has a quiet exhaust tone at idle and cruising speeds. A new fuel sending unit was just installed with new rubber fuel lines. The front brakes were recently serviced with new brake calipers and brake hoses. The brakes work very well and stop as they should with no pulling from side to side. The engine bay area is nicely detailed as seen in the photos and shows well and is mostly stock. Underside is very solid with no visible patches noticed and no rust concerns are visible. The underside was heavily rust proofed when new which has really done its job and kept this Mustang rust free. The underside still shows a lot of the rust proofing which is not pretty but necessary to keep the rust away.
