Cincy Classic Cars is proud to offer this stunning 1978 Trans Am which is in fully restored condition with low actual miles of 87,313. This is a very unique Trans Am in factory white paint over factory camel interior with charcoal and red decals. This Trans Am features a terrific repaint in factory Cameo White with brand new decals, a beautiful restored Camel Tan interior, with a rebuilt original 400 Pontiac engine, and a rebuild of the original transmission. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Cameo White (code 11) over Camel Tan deluxe cloth interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above. This TA is loaded with factory options like AC, power windows and door locks, and tilt steering wheel.
Exterior
The Cameo White exterior is in restored fantastic overall condition. This Trans Am was treated to a professional repaint in factory Cameo White and has a terrific shine and the new decals look like they were just installed. The paint is in wonderful overall condition and both bumpers are in good shape with no flaking or faded paint. The front nose emblem and front bumper grills were replaced. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires have good tread left and are sized 245/60/15and the 15×8 snowflake wheels are restored and new center caps were added. All weather stripping and window sweeps are in great condition and were replaced. Trunk is very solid and clean with and original style trunk mat and spare tire and jack.
Interior
The Camel Tan cloth interior of this Trans Am is in very nice overall condition. The seat covers were redone using NOS lombardy cloth material and are like new and look factory. The carpet is like new with no stains, rips, or holes and was replaced. The original dash is in excellent condition and the dash bezel was restored and looks new. The upgraded Kenwood digital cassette stereo works and sounds nice, and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner was replaced and is in excellent shape. All interior lights and gauges work as they should outside of the clock. The stereo, wipers, horn, and blower motor all work. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever, and the ashtray is very clean.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition with only 87,313 actual miles. The original Pontiac 400 engine has plenty of power and drives very well. The engine and transmission were removed from the car and rebuilt to stock specs and run very very well. The rear end was serviced as well. A new starter was added along with a new alternator. New brake lines and fuel liners were added along with a new gas tank. New shocks were added with new rear leaf springs. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an excellent driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs great. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should. True dual exhaust was added and gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. This is a factory AC car and all the AC parts are in place but it appears to need a charge to blow cold. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owners and several wear items have been replaced. The outstanding way this TA looks and drives is a true testament to the prior owners care and love for this special TA.
