Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this amazing survivor 1981 Trans Am which is in fantastic original condition with low actual miles of 38,745. This Trans Am has only had one real owner, Mr. Yelton, from 12/30/81 until 4/1/2017 when we purchased it from the estate. Please view all the original paperwork and documented owner history below in photos, plus the copy of the original title from 12/30/81 when Mr. Yelton took ownership. This TA was payment to Mr. Yelton for legal services provided in 1981. This TA never left Bethel Ohio, until recently when we purchased it 10 miles from the previous owners home. View how the build sheet matches the original dealer plate on the rear bumper. This Trans Am features amazing all original paint with original decals, a stunningly beautiful black vinyl all original interior, a plethora of original documentation, and the original numbers matching 301 engine, see vin stamp photo. This Trans Am is absolutely solid and has no visible rust anywhere around the car or under the car, and is very solid with great lines and gaps. Its believed that this TA has never had any body work done and is all original sheet metal. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Starlight Black (code 19) over Black (code 19R) standard vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag and build sheet pictured below. I removed the rear seat during detailing and found 2 perfect original build sheets tucked behind the rear seat springs and one under the rear seat. These were placed in the car nearly 40 years ago on the assembly line. Another great sign of originality and authenticates this TA for what it was then and what it still is today. The low mileage is not only validated by the amazing original condition of this TA but also by the Ohio title pictured below stating the mileage as “Actual.” There are also several receipts pictured below with mileage documentation.

Exterior

The Starlight Black exterior is in incredible overall original condition. This Trans Am has never had any paintwork done and still hosts its original sheet metal and original factory graphics. The paint is in spectacular condition for its age and there are no signs of visible rust and both bumpers are in excellent shape with no flaking paint. The decals are in amazing shape for being nearly 40 years old and still look great on the car. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but noting was intentionally excluded from the photos. Tires are brand new and have less than 50 miles on them and are correctly sized 225/70/15. The 15×7 snowflake wheels are OEM originals and are in near perfect shape with no curb rash and have never been restored or painted. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in excellent condition. The trunk is factory perfect and very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire, jack, with the original trunk mat. The original speaker insulation is still in place which is another great sign of originality. The underside of this TA is honest and extremely solid and rust free. All glass is factory original “LOF” glass.

Interior

The Black vinyl interior of this Trans Am is original and in mint condition. The seat covers are factory originals and in perfect condition for their age and have no major wear, stains, or seam splits. The carpet is original and looks nearly perfect with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in excellent condition with no cracks or fading and the dash bezel is in excellent condition as well. The original AM/FM Stereo works great in this TA and thankfully the dash has not been cut for a modern stereo. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner is in good condition and the original package tray is in like new condition. All interior lights and gauges work as they should including the clock and cigarette lighter. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds all work.

Mechanical

This Trans Am is in great mechanical condition with only 38,745 actual miles on the original 301 engine. Over $2300 was just spent on road worthy maintenance. New tires were just installed, new brakes, new battery, new hoses and belts, new filters and new fluids, see receipt photo below. We have driven this TA numerous times on the streets and it drives nicely, it does not run hot, rides very tight, and is a true joy to drive. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. The brakes are newer and do not pull and stop as they should. Also, the engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The engine bay is very unmolested and is very factory correct and a lot of the lines, hoses, and wires are factory original. This is a factory AC car and all factory components are still on the car but the system appears to need a charge to blow cold. This TA has been loved and meticulously cared for by its previous owner and several receipts come with the car. The outstanding originality of this TA and the way it drives is a true testament to prior owners care and love for this special TA.
